Knowing The Visa Types You Can Apply For

For those wanting to find new opportunities, going abroad to another country is definitely one of the best chances that you can take. And one of the best places that you can go to is Australia. Unluckily, however, you can't simply go and work there.


What you need to secure before you can travel and work in another country, Australia in this case, is a visa (not the credit card). Visas are the documents that allow you to stay in a foreign country in a given amount of time, from as short as a week to as long as six months (the common maximum). Note that visa for Australia only allow you to enter a foreign territory, you still have to apply for separate permits to secure several privileges that you might want.


In order to secure a visa, you must first apply from the respective embassies of the country that you are going to. Aside from the required documents such as a birth certificate and school records, you need a visa form. This can be obtained either at the embassy's office or at its website free of charge. After submitting your application, you will be scheduled for an interview by the consul for final approval.


Depending on the purpose of your travel, you will have to apply for a specific type of visa. Aside from the requirements above, you need to file a few other documents that are required for the type of visa that you are going for. Here are some of the more common ones that the Australian government requires.


The Australia skilled visa is the one that you need to apply for if you intend to go for work. Depending on the type of skill level that you have, the category is further subdivided into the professional or the skilled worker visa. In order to apply for this, you must first have a job order from a company in Australia. In some cases, the employer will be the one to sponsor your application (including fees). You will also often be required to pass examinations that are given to professional in that country.


If you instead want to establish a business in Australia, you can apply for a Australia business visa. The business visa can be valid for for up to four years. After the period, if your business proves to be successful, you can then apply for a permanent residence visa for continued operations. Note that to apply, you need to present proof that you do have a successful business back in your home country.


Students wishing to study in Australia will also be required to applied for a Australia student visa. In order to apply for one, you need to have either a recommendation from your school back in your home country or an endorsement from an educational institution in Australia. If you are able to complete your studies, you can then be eligible to apply for permanent residence and working permits.
